Greener car ads

New advertising rules being proposed by the EU look set to make car ads a lot more attractive to the greenies amongst us. If the proposal is implemented, car manufacturers in Europe will have to include a climate hazard alert on their ads, much like the health warnings on cigarette packets. One UK politician is calling for the warnings to take up 20% of the ad space. Read more on The Guardian site >

This will make it hard for car companies (like Saab) to practice “green washing” and can’t come soon enough for me. Reminds me of a bumper sticker I saw once “I’m Changing the Climate – Ask Me How”
