Digital Storytelling

18Apr08

Penguin UK has collaborated with alternate reality game designers Six to Start on the We Tell Stories project. Over six weeks, authors will be challenged to come up with a reworking of a “Penguin Classic” and design it especially to be viewed on the internet.

The page above is from Matt Mason and Nicholas Feltron (the annual report guy), and is a remix of the Charles Dicken’s novel Hard Times. They have created an infographic tale of global teenage life and the world they live in.

The project has some really exciting and innovative storytelling methods, including The 21 Steps, a homage to John Buchan’s The 39 Steps, which is utilizes GoogleMaps to tell the tale of “a man in the wrong place at the wrong time”.
