Toy Soldiers
08Apr08
Patrick Martinez made 50 sets of toy soldiers and shopdropped them into Target stores. The project was part of an exhibition called LA vs WAR. Through the project Martinez hopes to raise awareness of the hopeless situation of many poor families who have no other choice but to send their kids to fight wars in order to make a living. The packaging included phrases such as “Bonus! Includes one special limited edition rich white soldier” and “Army Set Includes: brown, black and poor people 18 years+” More info on the Groundswell Blog.
On another note, one that has done the round of the blogs is this ad for super glue by Australian agency DDB. Via AD Goodness.

I think its interesting but so fascistic this idea of Martinez. In the end Neo Liberal stuff. But I’d like a box. Can you get them?
