A question for you
28Nov07
I am doing a bit of research on what makes a good conference. I wonder if any of you have been to any. What were your favourites? Who spoke and why were they good? If you could hear anyone speak at a conference, who would they be?

Hi
This blog will change focus a little from September 2008 as I will be studying a Master of Information Design at Reading University. Thanks to all my students past and present from Billy Blue College of Design for a wonderful couple of years; please stay in touch.

Nigel Holmes! I’d love to hear him talk about his own development as a designer and how, if and when he realized he was onto something worth really pursuing when he started exploring information graphic design.
I just found your blog, so forgive me if this is off-topic.
Totally not off topic at all. Thanks for your contribution. I do love an infographic, and was familiar with his work, although I didn’t know his name.
Am now awaiting a response from any of my 83 students. Although as they’ve just finished for the year, I may be waiting in vain!

The mother of all conferences
Thank goodness that they have video of the TED conferences online, as I don’t think I’ll ever be lucky enough to get there. Anyone reading Good’s post above that hasn’t heard of TED needs to get to the website and watch some. Thanks for the post G.
My pleasure. I think a ticket for TED is about 4000 dollars. Ehm… not what you call “for everyone” but it’s wonderful they put the whole thing online.
